The Book of Thel tells of the existential searching of a young woman in grips with life’s greatest paradox: Why live if only to die? In a luxurious valley, nature itself attempts to provide Thel with answers. Thel converses with a flower, a cloud, a worm and takes a perilous journey underground into the realm of the dead. 

The Book of Thel is an original scenic interpretation of a poem written and illuminated by the visionary William Blake in England in 1789. In her newest creation Clea Minaker has collaborated with a painter, a musician and a puppeteer, using simple, elegant stage craft to create theatrical illusion and the mental landscape of Blake’s heroine.
