The High Dials

Absolutely Free
Absolutely Free are a Canadian experimental pop trio from Toronto. The group was formed in 2012 from the ashes of the art punk outfit MM/DD/YYYY, who shared similar abstract tendencies. Taking influences from Krautrock, psychedelia, African polyrhythms, and early electronic music, the band released a pair of well-regarded singles in 2012 (UFO/Glass Tassle) and 2013 (On the Beach/Clothed Woman, Sitting) before teaming up with producer Mike Haliechuk (Fucked Up, Austra) to record their eclectic self-titled debut LP. Absolutely Free have delivered their hypnotic, off-kilter take on pop music at major North American festivals like SXSW, NXNE, Pop Montreal, and CMJ. After signing with Canadian indie Arts & Crafts, they delivered their first LP in October 2014. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
Birds of paradise
Birds of Paradise embrace new pop sounds and the romanticism of a past era. The duo consists of multimedia artists Roy Vucino & Hannah Lewis who after having immersed themselves in Fassbinder films, Dada art and the surreal worlds of Murakami’s writing they eloped to California and began this musical road trip. While still paying homage to the melancholic voices of their 60s and 70s folk heroes, BOP imagine their own warped version of folk and romantic pop with a sound that is both disturbing and enveloping, cinematic and contemplative.
