Debuting with a mixture of punk speed and metal guitar power, Southern California outfit Strung Out were mainstays of the punk circuit for decades, playing hardcore anthems with anti-authority attitude on '90s efforts like debut Another Day in Paradise and 1996's Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues. At the turn of the millennium, the band began evolving with a more melodic approach heard on 1998's Twisted by Design and 2002's An American Paradox, their first to chart on the Billboard 200. Incorporating speedy riffs, darker tones, and mature introspection, they continued into the 2010s with Transmission.Alpha.Delta and the acoustic Black Out the Sky EP.
